Adams named NCICU 2025 Undergraduate Research Award Recipient

A William Peace University student is being recognized for her work in the fields of science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM), and psychology.

Tameka Adams was one of only 11 recipients of the North Carolina Independent Colleges & Universities (NCICU) 2025 Undergraduate Research Award.

NCICU, which includes 36 colleges and universities in North Carolina, has established an endowment and will provide stipends in varying amounts based on the projects undertaken by these students. The students selected receive financial support and academic advising in their chosen field. Adams and the other recipients will have the opportunity to present projects at the State of North Carolina Undergraduate Research and Creativity Symposium (SNCURCS) in November.

“I was so shocked,” Adams said when asked about her reaction to being selected. “I was grateful and excited that I received it.”

Adams is a senior psychology and criminal justice double major from Cary. She is also a member of Peace’s volleyball team.
